‘STOMP’ brings New York Rhythm to Mechanics Bank Theater tonight

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Tonight at the Mechanics Bank Theater, a group with a nearly 30-year legacy will be making its way to Bakersfield.

“STOMP” has played everywhere from street corners to college stadiums, racking up millions of views on YouTube.

Since “STOMP” was last in Bakersfield before the pandemic, coming back to the stage here is a nice feeling for performer Ivan Salazar.

“You can look forward to what we do with simple, everyday objects.”

Those objects turn the performance into a storyline, without saying a thing.

“The show is actually really funny, which I always make a point to highlight because I don’t think people understand that there’s tons of comedy in the show,” Salazar said.

It’s all physical and situational humor, which translates to all age ranges, Salazar says.

“We’re happy to be here, grateful for it and excited to rock out.”

Tickets are available on AXS.com and the event starts at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Mechanics Bank Theater.
