Stop Everything And Take A Look At Cate Blanchett’s Pink Hair

Cate Blanchett, legend that she is, has gone and proved that there’s no cut off age for dying your hair a bright shade of pink.
The 46-year-old actress was spotted in London last night sporting the show-stopping shade as she trotted around the west end in a grey trouser suit and overcoat. And she clarified one key style lesson: It’s no longer about teaming your bag with your shoes - today’s fashion is now about matching your hair to your sunnies.

It’s definitely an unusual look for the “Carol” star, who’s usually seen sporting a sleek platinum blonde ‘do that perfectly co-ordinates with her haute couture red carpet gowns and high-fashion off-duty looks.
But we have to admit we’re big fans of the new hue. It’s the work of Blanchett’s go-to London hairstylist, Nicola Clarke, who’s been keeping her hair that perfect baby blonde shade for years.
“We’ve been talking about doing it for a while but wanted to get all the award seasons out of the way to have a play and a bit of fun,” Clarke, creative colour director at John Frieda, told The Telegraph. “I highlighted Cate’s hair, softening the blonde around the face and made a water gloss with a mix of pinks. It will last a couple of weeks, depending on how many washes it has.”

Blanchett’s by no means the first Hollywood legend to opt for a traditionally youthful hairdo. Back in 2013, Helen Mirren dyed her locks a candyfloss pink shade - which went down a treat.
