Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) sent a stern message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after an IDF airstrike in Gaza killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers.

“If you could sit down face to face with Netanyahu today, what would you say to him?” MSNBC’s Ana Cabrera asked the progressive senator.

“Stop murdering innocent people,” Sanders replied bluntly.

“It is inexcusable, and it’s got to end right now, and the United States cannot continue to be complicit in the horror that is taking place there,” he continued.

Netanyahu confirmed Tuesday that, “unfortunately, in the last day there was a tragic case of our forces unintentionally hitting innocent people in the Gaza Strip. This happens in war. We are checking this thoroughly. We are in touch with governments and we will do everything for this not to happen again.”

“So, you don’t want to see any aid going to Israel to help its defense?” Cabrera asked Sanders.

“It’s not defense. Again, Israel has the right to go after Hamas, who started this war. Israel does not have the right to kill, to create a situation where they’re stopping humanitarian aid from getting in. The result of this — children are starving to death right now,” Sanders responded. “Do we want to be complicit in that?”
