There’s a new store coming to the former Pier 1 Imports space at NewMarket Square

A new occupant is coming to the former Pier 1 Imports space at NewMarket Square.

Rally House is doubling its space at the center at 21st and Maize Road with a move to the one-time home decor space. That’s a jump from about 4,000 square feet to about 8,000 square feet.

The store currently is in a NewMarket strip center along Maize Road in front of Walmart. The former Pier 1 space is farther north on Maize Road along the back of the center next to Kirkland’s.

The move was supposed to happen this weekend but now is delayed at least until April 15, assistant store manager Jakob Thomas said.

Some departments have already moved, though.

“We just are pretty limited on stock on certain teams right now,” Thomas said.

Rally House is moving within NewMarket Square later this month. It’s taking the 8,000-square-foot former Pier 1 Imports space next to Kirkland’s.

He said the move is delayed due to construction and setting up the new store.

“We’re just kind of getting all our ducks in a row.”
