Store Manager Protects His Workers, Customers: Santa Cruz Hero

Courtney Teague

SANTA CRUZ, CA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. And Santa Cruz County is full of them.

We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Kelly Marie Clark of Santa Cruz, who nominated her boss, Jay Haskin of Santa Cruz:

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:

What does the nominee do for work?:
Store Manager at Walgreens on Soquel Ave

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Keeping the store and his employees and customers safe, old and new alike, safe and educated. Keeping us always informed about what to do to stay safe.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
So very kind and good at what he does for Walgreens, his employees and the community.

Thank you for all you do!
