New store to replace Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Gastonia
In 2023 Bed Bath & Beyond closed hundreds of stores nation-wide, including one store located at 401 Cox Road in Gastonia.
In the wake of the closure of one home goods store, another is gearing up to take its place.
Bed Bath & Beyond’s closure of the Gastonia location was part of a move to decrease the number of physical stores in the chain after nearing bankruptcy.
“Bed Bath & Beyond's tumultuous few months have included massive losses, executive shakeups, a major activist investor selling his stake, and the death of its former CFO,” reported Business Insider last February.
Adding to the list of home good stores in Gaston County, this year, a new business will take up residence in that space.
Gastonia’s Director of Economic Development Kristy Crisp confirmed that HomeGoods will open in the former Bed Bath & Beyond space, though the city has no information regarding when the store will open.
A representative from HomeGoods declined to comment.
