If you're doing any online shopping while you're stuck at home, you've got no shortage of places to spend your hard-earned money. An easy way to narrow down your list? Support brands that are giving back during the coronavirus pandemic. Many retailers, for example, have pledged to continue to pay retail workers despite temporarily closing brick-and-mortar stores. Better still are the brands that are also hosting sales to give a little something back to their customers, too, making their much-loved goods even more affordable during these difficult times.
To help bolster these stores and their employees, we've compiled a list of sales you can currently shop at popular retailers such as Nordstrom, J.Crew, and H&M, all of which are committed to ensuring regular pay for staff during the COVID-19 outbreak.
While Nordstrom stores are remaining closed at this time, you can take full advantage of the luxury retailer's free shipping online. Thanks to a Spring sale that will run until Saturday, April 14, you can also score savings of up to 60% on your favorite brands, including Tory Burch, UGG, Zella, and more.
Shoppers can also rest assured that Nordstrom is striving to support its staff. In a statement, the company said, "We want to take care of [our employees] as best we can and will be providing them with pay and benefits during this two-week period as well as providing additional resources to help them through this challenging time."
Although J. Crew plans on keeping its doors closed until further notice, the brand promised to continue to pay its store associates in response to COVID-19, referring to them as “the heart" of the company.
Customers can currently score 50% discounts on "wear-now styles" online at J.Crew using the code REFRESH for a limited time. Shoppers can also snag up to 70% off hundreds of styles at J.Crew Factory through April 7, plus 60% off shoes for the whole family.
Even after announcing that its stores will remain closed indefinitely, Madewell is striving to support employees who work behind the counter, plus continuing "to be a place to inspire you, to encourage you and—now more than ever—to make you smile."
Gap and its owned brands, including Old Navy and Banana Republic, announced that under Gap Inc.’s Continuous Pay Policy, pay continuity and benefits would be provided to "impacted store employees" during this two-week period, noting that the "focus remains on supporting the health and livelihood" of its workers.
With that in mind, the sitewide sale that's happening at Gap is just another reason to shop at the company. You can currently take 40% off your entire purchase with code APRIL, plus, you'll get an extra 10% off when you use the code FORYOU at checkout through April 13. You'll also get free shipping on orders over $25, and free returns to boot.
According to its website, H&M will support "impacted colleagues and their families with two weeks of continued pay." While that alone is a great reason to shop the store's online apparel, members (it's quick and easy to sign up) can currently save 20% on orders of $60 or more, plus, they'll get free shipping through today, April 7.
In its most recent COVID-19 update, Levi Strauss & Co. stated cited the health and safety of its employees and communities as being a top priority, with a statement that read, "All of our store employees will be paid for their scheduled hours during these closures."
If you’re considering a denim upgrade, Levi's "Silver Lining" sale, which goes until April 20, will save you 40% on your order with the code SILVER40. You'll also get free shipping on orders of more than $100.
7. Under Armour
During this unprecedented period, Under Armour is prioritizing the well-being of its employees or "teammates," noting that they "will continue to receive pay during this time."
