My name is Junior Lopez and I am 7 years old. I am in the second grade at Pierson Elementary School. I am in the KidsZone program and I enjoy painting and playing chess and tic-tac-toe with the other students. For Thanksgiving, we all made turkeys!

My mom is taking English classes next door and I have been able to help her with some homework. She does a good job speaking English at my school with my teacher. I like all subjects and get A-pluses in reading. I like reading books at home. My favorite book is "Dog Man" by Dave Pilkey. I have at home 10 books from the collection.

Christmas is coming: Here are a few spots in Volusia and Flagler to find a real Christmas tree

When it's December, I always give a Christmas present to my teacher, Ms. Monahan — she’s very kind. My favorite superhero is Batman and my second is Spiderman.

At home, I have a sister and two big brothers. For Christmas, I plan on giving my parents flowers. For one of my brothers, I’d like to give him a Nintendo DS, and the oldest a Stars Wars game or the PS5. For me, I’d like to get a Lego Star Wars set. We plan on spending Christmas with family members from Mexico.

When I grow up, I want to be a farmer. I want to sell fruit and vegetables to stores to get money. Plus, I like sheep, cows and goats!
