Storm completes esteemed Henry Toll Fellowship program

Oct. 12—The Council of State Governments (CSG) named 45 outstanding leaders to the 2023 Henry Toll Fellowship Program in July. State Senator Brandon Storm, R-London, was the lone Kentuckian selected by the program's alums to participate after being nominated by his peers. He joined other highly esteemed individuals from around the country.

Founded in 1933, CSG is the nation's largest nonpartisan organization serving all three branches of state elected and appointed officials. The mission of CSG is to champion excellence in state government.

Storm attended the organization's Henry Toll Fellowship Program's intensive six-day, five-night leadership boot camp in August. This event is held annually at CSG's national office in Lexington, Kentucky, which houses CSG's projects, publications, and special initiatives. These programs foster collaboration and community between elected and appointed officials from across the country and the six U.S. territories.

"I was proud to complete the program and now be a Henry Toll Fellow," Storm said. "This experience was a rewarding and unique leadership opportunity that will empower me to better serve the 21st Senate District and our commonwealth. It was truly an honor to be selected to represent Kentucky."

Fellowship participants must attend the graduation ceremony during the 2023 CSG National Conference held Dec. 6-9 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

CSG says the leadership boot camp stimulates personal assessment and growth, empowers leaders to collaborate and communicate more effectively and provides nonpartisan networking and relationship-building opportunities. According to its website, CSG has sponsored the program for state and government officials since 1986.

The program is named in honor of CSG founder Henry Wolcott Toll and is one of the nation's premier leadership development programs for state government officials. The fellowship has more than 1,350 alums, including five state and territorial house speakers, three sitting state supreme court justices, 10 sitting members of Congress, five sitting governors, and more than 200 currently serving in either state or territorial legislatures.
