Storm Eta Flooding Breaches River Bridge in Eastern Guatemala

The swollen Grande de Zacapa River overtook a bridge in Jocotán, Guatemala, as Tropical Depression Eta inundated Central America, local reports said.

Local media reported at least four people were killed in Guatemala due to the rains brought by storm Eta.

The National Hurricane Center issued an advisory warning that rains from Eta, which was downgraded from a tropical storm to a depression on November 4, could lead to “catastrophic and life-threatening flash flooding and river flooding across portions of Central America.”
