CLEMSON – With Hurricane Ian expected to bring high winds and heavy rain to the Upstate on Saturday, ESPN is considering indoor options for its College GameDay program.

The broadcast is scheduled for 9 a.m. until noon at Bowman Field on campus, but could be moved to an indoor location, such as Littlejohn Coliseum.

“Depending on the weather, we’re looking at alternative locations indoor on campus,” Julie McKay, senior publicist for college sports at ESPN told the Greenville News. “We’re closely monitoring the storm, but are planning for a normal GameDay experience. Public safety is always our primary concern so if anything changes, we will be prepared to adjust accordingly.”

"College GameDay," which features Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, David Pollack and Pat McAfee, will be making its eighth appearance on the Clemson campus.

No. 5 Clemson (4-0, 2-0 ACC) will play No. 10 NC State (4-0, 0-0) on Saturday (7:30 p.m., ABC) at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium.

“Clemson Athletics is engaged in consistent dialogue with our university campus safety personnel each game week and we’ll continue to be in regular communication should the outlook worsen,” said Jeff Kallin, Clemson’s senior associate athletic director for communications.

Anticipating inclement weather in the Columbia area, South Carolina on Tuesday moved its football game against S.C. State from noon Saturday to 7 p.m. Thursday.
