Storm hits Cape Cod: See latest updates on outages, damage and flooding

A storm packing strong winds and heavy rain blasted across Cape Cod on Tuesday night and kept right on rolling into the early morning hours on Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, the storm was expected to taper off around dawn.

Rain totals for the storm may exceed two inches by the time it's all over. Power outages and tree damage were also expected in areas near the coast, according to the National Weather Service Boston/Norton forecast discussion.

Cape Codders were treated to a big serving of high winds Tuesday into Wednesday, but luckily there were only a few power outages across the peninsula.

Roads flooded in Falmouth and Provincetown

Coastal flooding closed at least a few Cape Cod roads during Wednesday's storm.

In Falmouth, the ocean swept onto Nobska Road and Surf Drive. Part of Commercial Street in Provincetown's East End was closed as water flooded front yards and lapped against porches.
