Storms Bring Flooding and Power Outages to Southern Alabama

Storms that swept through parts of Alabama on April 23 caused severe flooding and left over 1,000 people without power, local media reported.

The Montgomery Advertiser said by noon, power had been restored to the vast majority of customers in the Montgomery area. Fewer than 20 customers remained without service, but crews were working to resolve those issues.

The National Weather Service (NWS) implemented a flash flood watch and wind advisory for parts of southern Alabama due to the storms. A tornado watch was also in effect for certain counties in Alabama on April 23.
