Drake has sent Twitter into disarray after he gave a shout-out to Stormzy’s ex-girlfriend Maya Jama in his new song “Only You Freestyle”.

The Canadian artist teamed up with London rapper Headie One for the track, which was released on Monday (20 July).

In the opening lines of the track, Drake raps: “Chubbs might jam this yute for a chain, and gave it to a sweet one, called that Maya Jama.”

Stormzy’s fans have speculated about the rapper’s reaction to the new song.

“Drake dropping maya jama name stormzy u have 24 hours to respond,” wrote on Twitter user.

Another said: “Drake calling Maya Jama a sweet one on the opening verse… Stormzy is somewhere SCREAMING.”

“I know stormzy was punching the air when he heard drake drop that maya jama bar,” added a third.

TV presenter Jama dated Stormzy for four years before they split in August 2019.

Later that year, Stormzy released the song “Lessons” in which he expressed regret over the way he treated the presenter.

Addressing cheating rumours in January, he said: “Do you know what? I actually didn’t cheat. I swear to God, I didn’t cheat. So we had broken up and I was out publicly being a rapper, being very inconsiderate to the fact that I’ve just come out of the most public relationship.

“We’d broken up and I went out and I acted disrespectfully. I was just out in clubs. I knew the world still thought I was in a relationship and I was out looking like I didn’t give a f***.”
