Stow-Munroe Falls grad represents GoBowling in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Stow-Munroe Falls graduate Jillian Martin's bowling career is definitely on a roll.
Martin, a freshman at the University of Nebraska, made an appearance in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as a GoBowling ambassador on the GoBowling.com float.
NBC's national coverage of the parade Thanksgiving morning included Martin's name onscreen as she and a Huskers teammate rode the float, featuring 16-foot-tall bowling pins, a pair of motorized size 151½ bowling shoes and a 15-foot-diameter bowling ball.

Martin has made an immediate impact for the Huskers, placing second in total pinfall with a total of 1,317 (219.5 average) at the Bearcat Roto Grip Open last weekend in Illinois. She also led all bowlers with a 1,745 pinfall (218.13 average) last month at the season-opening Motiv Penguin Classic, hosted by Youngstown State University.

During her senior year at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, Martin became the youngest female to win a Professional Women’s Bowling Association tour event at age 17. That broke a record that had stood since 1986, when Wendy Macpherson captured the U.S. Women’s Open at age 18.

Martin was the Beacon Journal Bowler of the Year in 2018 as a freshman at Stow-Munroe Falls and has been bowling on the national level ever since. She won a state title in 2019.
