Stow-Munroe Falls school district adds levy renewal to May ballot

The Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is asking voters to renew an operating levy on the May 2 ballot.

The school board voted Monday to put the measure, which first passed in 2012 and will not result in higher taxes, up for a voter in the spring primary ballot.

Superintendent Tom Bratten said the levy generates $7.3 million annually for the district. Funds generated by the levy are put toward the day-to-day costs for the school district, including technology, supplies, utilities, and teachers in the classroom.

“Our district has a strong record of maintaining a lean operating budget and residents receive a good investment in their taxpayer dollars from our schools,” Bratten said in a news release. “This May 2nd levy is a zero increase in taxes and will continue the district on a stable financial path and maintain our academic excellence.”
