The Emmys has a very specific eligibility period, and for the 2019 awards it ran from June 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019. As Stranger Things Season 3 came out after the eligibility period had ended, the show will instead be considered for the Emmys in 2020. The popular Netflix series is already somewhat of a darling at the Emmys, having secured a whopping 30 nominations over the course of its first two seasons. Stranger Things has managed to take home six Emmys to date, and will hopefully add to that number in 2020.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones has secured a record-breaking 32 Emmy nominations in 2019 for its final season, which aired earlier this year, and is pretty much guaranteed to make a huge impression at the awards ceremony.
