Stranger Things star confirms he's not returning for season 5

Stranger Things actor Eduardo Franco has confirmed he won't be returning as Argyle in season 5.
The character became a fan favourite after being introduced in season 4, though some were left concerned after Franco was noticeably missing from a cast production photo released earlier this week.
Speaking to YouTuber Steve Varley, the actor was asked about whether he could offer fans any hope of being in the show's final season, admitting "that's it" for Argyle as far as he knows.

“It’s nice to hear that there’s, there’s some sort of, you know, concern or something, you know what I mean?" Franco said.
"But I’ve never, I never got a phone call. So I think, yeah, I think that’s it.”
Netflix confirmed that production had finally started on the season with the photo, captioning the post: "Take it all in, nerds. the fifth and final season of Stranger Things is officially in production."
It comes after delays due to last year's Hollywood strikes, including the writers' strike which paused work on its scripts.

Meanwhile, last month creators Matt and Ross Duffer shut down a fan theory that the show's story was just a game of Dungeons & Dragons invented by the Hawkins kids.
Debunking the speculation, Matt joked to Metro: "That is correct. That is the ending…No."
"That would be the equivalent of 'that’s all a dream'. No, I assure you that is not how we’re going to end the show," Ross added.
"We’ve known where we’ve been going for a while. And we feel comfortable with it; hopefully, it satisfies everyone. We’ll see."
Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
