KEY ACTION – Heard a presentation from the Youth-to-Youth program.

DISCUSSION: Claudia Airhart and Max Metz gave an update on the Youth-to-Youth program. Airhart said this is a rebuilding year for the group. Airhart will continue working with the program. Metz said the group is trying to get more students involved and continuing working with Ohio Guidestone. Dawn Delcoma is the advisor.

In another matter, the board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Adam Hall, effective July 31. Hall has served as high school/middle school principal and varsity boys basketball coach, before taking the superintendent reigns in 2021-22. He will be Dean of Students and varsity girls basketball coach at Canton South School District.

OTHER ACTION

• Adopted a resolution nominating Kevin Harvey for the Ohio School Boards Association’s Recognition award.

• Hired Joshua Loar as the band director and music teacher for the 2022-23 school year. He is a graduate of Alliance High and a 2018 graduate of Malone University. He is currently a teacher and assistant band director at Copley-Fairlawn Middle School. Superintendent Adam Hall said Loar is an excellent addition to the staff. He will continue to elevate the music programs and use the music classroom to create personalized learning experiences. Kevin McDougal, current high school/middle school principal said Loar brings with him experience and creativity and will inspire the students and foster true appreciation for music and learning.

• Accepted the resignation of Jaelle Lindon, teacher, effective at the end of the school year and Kim Gessner, cheerleading advisor.

• Approved a continuing contract for Guidance Counselor Lindsey Tidrick. She has met all requirements according to the teacher’s negotiated agreement. She also was given up to 20 extended days 10 prior to the beginning of school and 10 days after the last day of school.

• Non-renewed all supplemental contracts for the 2021-22 school year once the season has ended.

• Non-renewed Kasey Robinson-Parent Liaison. The position is contingent on Title funds being awarded to the district.

• Approved daily lunch prices as follows; $2.75 grades kindergarten to fifth grades; $3 grades 6-12 and $4 for staff.

• Approved field trips for sixth grade camp to Camp Muskingum from Nov. 9-11, 2022 and an eighth-grade trip to Washington DC, April 26-28, 2023.

• Non-renewed certificated employees and aides that are employed by the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center. This is an annual practice until the federal funds are awarded to re-hire personnel.

• Non-renewed Troy McClellan, high school social studies teacher. McClellan's contract is granted a year at a time.

• Approved Mary Sue Fierbaugh as varsity football and basketball cheerleading advisor for the 2022-23 school year.

• Approved five certified teaching contracts and five classified contracts for the 2022-23 school year.

• Gave approval to the list of 2022 graduates pending successful completion of all graduation requirements.

• Approved the five-year forecast for 2022-26 to be submitted to the Ohio Department of Education by May 31.

• Passed a resolution to advertise and receive bids for the purchase of a 65-passenger integrated school bus. The passing of the resolution does not obligate the district to purchase a bus.

• Recognized March students of the month Daisy Verbarg, high school and Sadie Thomas, middle school. Each received a plaque that is sponsored by the district and Lion’s Club.

• Thanked the community for approving the renewal of the $600,000 operating levy for the school.
