Stratford Company To Invest Over $1 Million In Local Factory

STRATFORD, CT — Local company Kitchen Brains is investing more than $1 million in its Stratford factory, with new manufacturing equipment, clean kitchen products to support food-service operators during the coronavirus outbreak, and advanced technologies and analytics.

Kitchen Brains is a company that develops and deploys controllers, timers, sensors and software solutions for commercial kitchens. At the core of its new investment program, called USA2020, is Kitchen Brains's commitment to its manufacturing operations in the United States, according to a news release from the company.

With USA2020, Kitchen Brains will provide customers with new capabilities, faster build times and greater accuracy, the news release said. The equipment will support upcoming technology advancements and more efficient production, while the added capacity will enable Kitchen Brains to offer contract manufacturing for current and new business partners.

"Even before the COVID-19 crisis impacted the world, we recognized the critical importance of self-sufficiency in providing us with the tools we need to meet our product and schedule commitments right here in the USA," CEO Christian Koether said in the news release.

Over the next few months, the company will be installing two new Juki RS1R SMT lines. Already in place are a Juki iCube Selective Soldering System and a Gamma 263 Fully Automatic Wire Cutting/Stripping/Crimping Machine.

USA2020 will also focus on delivering new products to support Kitchen Brains's food service partners, starting with Scrub Buddy™, a timer that schedules handwash reminders and provides 20-second handwash countdowns for up to eight employees during their shifts. Lastly, USA2020 includes deeper investment in KB360™, the company's cloud-based, IoT solution.
