Stratford Tax Offices Open For Extended Weekend Hours

STRATFORD, CT — The offices of the tax collector and tax assessor will be open for extended hours for the convenience of residents this weekend and next. The offices will be open 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, as well as Aug. 1, according to a town news release.

Both offices will be fully staffed. In consideration of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, face masks must be worn, and social distancing is required. A line will form at the door to Town Hall closest to the collector’s and assessor’s offices, and residents will exit Town Hall through the Main Street door.

Taxpayers are reminded that there are several options for paying taxes that do not require a visit to Town Hall.

You may view and pay your tax bill on the town’s website, townofstratford.com.

  • Electronic check: Using the electronic check option, taxpayers can pay their bill with an additional 95-cent fee for the full transaction.

  • Credit card: Taxpayers can pay with a credit card, incurring an additional fee of 2.95 percent of the transaction amount.

  • Debit card: There is a flat fee of $4.95 for taxpayers choosing to pay with a debit card.

Payments can also be made in person at the tax collector’s office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, deposited in the drop box at the office, or mailed to:

Office of the Tax Collector

PO Box 9722

Stratford, CT 06615

Additionally, payments can be made at any People’s Bank location in Connecticut, provided the payer is current on their taxes and has their original tax bill.
