Street closures for NYC Lunar New Year parade

CHINATOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – New York City’s Lunar New Year parade will return to the streets of Chinatown on Sunday.

The parade will kick off at 1 p.m., according to Better Chinatown USA.

The parade will begin at Mott and Hester streets in Chinatown. The route will go down Mott Street, then head east along East Broadway. The parade will turn up Forsyth Street and conclude near Grand Street by Sara D. Roosevelt Park.

Here is a list of streets in Manhattan that will be closed for the Lunar New Year Parade on Sunday.

Formation:

  • Mott Street between Broome Street and Canal Street

  • Hester Street between Bowery and Mulberry Street

Route:

  • Mott Street between Canal Street and Chatham Square

  • East Broadway between Chatham Square and Forsyth Street

  • Eldridge Street between East Broadway and Hester Street

  • Hester Street between Eldridge Street and Forsyth Street

  • Forsyth Street between Hester Street and Grand Street

  • Chatham Square between Mott Street and East Broadway

Dispersal:

  • Forsyth Street between Grand Street and Delancey Street

  • Broome Street between Forsyth Street and Eldridge Street
