Heavy rain triggered flash flooding on the streets of metropolitan DC on August 8, following warnings from the National Weather Service (NWS).

This footage, captured by local Charles Okanlawon, shows scenes in Riverdale Park, Maryland, on Monday afternoon. “No water main breaks. Just pure natural rainfall,” he said on Facebook.

Hot and humid conditions were forecasted in the area on Tuesday, with scattered thunderstorms expected into the afternoon and evening, the NWS said. Credit: Charles Okanlawon via Storyful
