Strictly Come Dancing alum Kevin Clifton has opened up about how he could potentially return to the BBC competition in the future.

Clifton left Strictly in 2020 after he won the show in 2018 with Stacey Dooley, which was the culmination of four consecutive finals for the professional dancer.

Clifton was recently interviewed by Metro for his episode of Who Do You Think You Are? and addressed the topic of a Strictly return. Specifically, Clifton spoke about rejoining the show for a special tribute to Len Goodman if such an event was organised for the 2023 series.

"Yeah, I mean I don’t know what their plans are, but I guess if they ever wanted to do something like that, I’d always be up for that conversation," Clifton said.

"Len was so wicked, and he was always there to give advice to all of us. He always had his feet on the ground. He was like the daddy of Strictly, wasn’t he?"

Goodman died earlier this year in April aged 78 following a battle with bone cancer. Tributes poured in for the former Strictly judge, including one from Clifton himself.

Clifton wrote a tribute to Goodman in an Instagram post, explaining: "Len Goodman judged me in competitions since I was a kid.

"On my first day at @bbcstrictly I asked him for any advice and he said, 'Just enjoy every moment. Don’t get too big for your boots and take it for granted, cos we’re just a bunch of ballroom dancers trying to make our way and this is the biggest opportunity that’s ever happened for us.'"

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
