Strictly Come Dancing pair Kai Widdrington and Nadiya Bychkova have shared information about the moment they fell for each other.

The couple, who began dating last year, spoke to OK! Magazine about their relationship and future plans together, before revealing that it was almost love at first sight.

“When I first met Nadiya I was instantly attracted to her – I mean, look at her,” said Kai. “We got on really well then the moment for me was when we first danced together – that’s when we realised that there was something special there.”

The pair spoke further about their favourite moments on the BBC show, with Nadiya revealing that a performance to Luke Evans’ cover of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ holds a special place in her heart.

“When we danced together while Luke Evans was singing, that was the best dance I have ever done in my career just because of how I felt,” she recalled. “When I knew I was going to dance with Kai, I didn’t worry even for a second.

“I was so relaxed, confident and sure nothing would go wrong because I can trust him so much. I’d never experienced it before to that level. We did it in one take, which is rare – it’s very rare.”

“When we dance together something magical happens,” added Kai. “That’s why we can’t wait to do our tour – it just works. We’re always on the same wavelength.”

The couple, who were paired with Kaye Adams and Matt Goss in the last series respectively, said marriage was the end if not immediate goal, with Nadiya saying: “Marriage is important to me. I want to be a wife, a mother, I want a family."

And Kai is in full agreement. “It’s a future I want, too, absolutely,” he added. “I would love to be a dad and one day be a husband and have a family. Ultimately, we’re not trying to start a family right now, but we are trying to create that family feeling among us and that’s important.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
