Strictly star Fleur East lands next TV role

Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East has signed up to star in a new TV show.
The singer and new co-host of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two will be joining the cast of BBC school drama Phoenix Rise.
Fleur is confirmed to play Miss Meesha, described as "an inspirational new music teacher" in season three and four of the show.

"I’m thrilled to be a part of Phoenix Rise," Fleur said of her new role. "There is so much raw talent and I’ve been soaking up the experience like a sponge!
"The cast and crew are amazing to work with and the scripts are real, gritty, funny and heart-warming," she added.
"I can’t wait for everyone to be introduced to my character Miss Meesha - she’s a ball of energy!"

The second series was released on BBC iPlayer today (September 25), following on from the success of it's first season which debuted on BBC Three and iPlayer back in March.
The teen drama was renewed for a further two seasons in April this year.
Filming for the third and fourth series of Phoenix Rise is currently under way in the West Midlands, with Fleur joining cast and crew on set at the show's production base in Coventry.
"Phoenix Rise follows a group of young outsiders who have been excluded from school as they return to mainstream education, form unlikely friendships and learn to navigate school life," an official synopsis of the teen series reads.
"The critically-acclaimed drama centres on six students who meet regularly in a disused boiler room at their school, an abandoned space which becomes their sanctuary."
Phoenix Rise seasons 1 and 2 are available on BBC iPlayer now.
