Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Leach has landed her first acting role since winning the Glitterball trophy.

The former Coronation Street actress will make her stage debut in the UK touring production of Cluedo 2 - The Next Chapter, based on the popular family board game.

Leach will portray Miss Scarlett, replacing ex-Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan in the play, which has been put on to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Hasbro game.

"After an incredible year I’m so excited to join the cast of Cluedo 2," she said in a press statement. "I am delighted to make my stage acting debut as Miss Scarlett and I can’t wait to work with Jason and the talented cast."

Actor Jason Durr, known for playing David Hide in BBC One's Casualty, joins Ellie on stage as Colonel Mustard.

"I was a huge fan of the Cluedo board game as a child and the Colonel is such a great character," he said of his new role.

Cluedo 2 marks the follow-up to 2022's stage play, which starred EastEnders actress Michelle Collins as Miss Scarlett.

The 2024 stage show will be set in the swinging '60s, with more murder and suspicion in store.

"As the bodies pile up, our colourful characters - The Honourable Mrs Emerald Peacock, Colonel Eugene Mustard, ‘Professor’ Alex Plum, Miss Annabel Scarlett, ‘The Reverend’ Hal Green and the housekeeper Mrs White - move from room to room trying to escape the murderer and survive the night," reads the synopsis.
