Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton has officially joined spin-off show Strictly It Takes Two.

The dancer and former Strictly professional - who quit the series back in March 2020 - will return to the Strictly franchise to co-present the show's Choreography Corner segment with sister and fellow dancer Joanne Clifton.

"Strictly Come Dancing champ Kevin Clifton returns, but this time as part of the BBC weekday sister show, It Takes Two, where he’ll be taking up the reins of Choreography Corner alongside sister Joanne," reads Kevin's new biography on the Strictly It Takes Two official site.

Kevin's new role will see him break down the current contestants' performances from the previous weekend and critique their upcoming dances through footage captured in the celebrities' training rooms.

It's not the first time Kevin has hosted Choreography Corner, with the dancer making a surprise appearance on It Takes Two to present a one-off segment in September 2021.

Kevin will step into the role to replace usual Choreography Corner host Joanne, who is currently busy starring as Princess Fiona in the touring production of Shrek the Musical.

Kevin is no stranger to Strictly, having competed in seven series of the show between 2013 and 2019.

In his first year he was paired with Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid and the two finished second in the grand final.

He made it to the final a further four times with pop star Frankie Bridge (2014), EastEnders actress Kellie Bright (2015) and singer Louise Redknapp (2016).

It wasn't until 2018, however, that Kevin finally lifted the Glitterball Trophy, winning the show with now-girlfriend, documentarian Stacey Dooley.

The two are proud parents to daughter Minnie, who the couple welcomed in January this year.

Kevin returned to the Strictly dance floor a year after his win in 2019, dancing with journalist Anneka Rice. The partnership finished in 14th place and Kevin announced his departure the following March.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Tickets for Strictly's 2024 live arena tour are available now.
