Strictly Come Dancing star Nigel Harman has revealed that he doesn’t feel like he’s left the show.

The actor and his professional partner, Katya Jones, withdrew from the BBC series at the weekend, with the star injuring himself in training ahead of Saturday’s (December 2) quarter-final.

Following their exit, the pair appeared opposite Fleur East in tonight’s (December 4) episode of It Takes Two, with Harman revealing that the last few days had been “surreal”.

“It was very strange waking up this morning and not dancing with Katya,” he began. “I’m still in quite a bit of pain so I was moping around the house wondering what she was doing. It feels strange as it’s only been three days.

“When I sat talking to you [Fleur] on Friday I knew I was in a bit of trouble but I thought it might be okay if I just went to sleep – it feels like I’ve got a little golf ball under my rib, so I’m trying not to laugh. I’m missing people but it doesn’t feel like I’ve left yet.”

“We’ve been so lucky to have had the privilege to watch Nigel on the dancefloor,” added Katya. “To see his talent, ability and artistry was so special. He brought his own thing to every single number – he brought the magic to every piece of choreography.”

Despite having to withdraw from the competition, it won’t be the last time we see Nigel and Katya on the dancefloor, with the pair set to return for the group routine as part of the Grand Final on December 16.

Before then, the semi final will see the remaining celebrities – Layton Williams, Ellie Leach, Bobby Brazier and Annabel Croft – battle it out for a place in the showpiece event, with each couple having to perform two dances for the first time.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
