Stacey Dooley has revealed that she is making a new documentary about coronavirus for BBC Three as she isolates at home along with the nation.

The Strictly Come Dancing winner took to her Instagram page to encourage people to send their stories about how they are coping, as well as how they are helping others.

"Hi gang, hello, I'm sure you're sick of these videos that everyone is posting online," she told her followers in a clip. "I am working from home for obvious reasons, we are making a documentary for BBC Three about coronavirus."

Panning around to show her cameraman, who was standing an appropriate distance away and wearing a face mask, Stacey continued: "We're desperate to hear how you guys... how you're getting on. How are you staying sane, how are you being productive?

"Would love to hear about the unsung heroes, so those that are prioritising others, putting their own concerns, their own needs to the one side and making sure that the older crowd, those who are a bit more vulnerable, are looked after.

"You might be getting shopping, you might be working with the homeless, you might be associated with some kind of charity, some kind of NGO, food distribution, giving blood."

She went on to praise the key workers during the crisis, adding: "The NHS workers on the front line – we are so in awe of you, we are so, so grateful, and we recognise the severity of the situation.

"Police, the supermarket workers, everybody thanks you so, so much. I'd love to see your videos, send us your clips and a quick bio of what life is like now."

Stacey then concluded: "We know everyone's feeling very anxious and there's a lot of uncertainty, but let's try and celebrate the small victories, I suppose."

Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the BBC has announced a raft of changes to its programming to keep the country entertained, including re-airing classic episodes of Gavin & Stacey as well as a replacement for Eurovision.
