Employees of the water utility in Russian-occupied Mariupol have not gone to work due to non-payment of wages.

Quote: "There has been a rebellion in Mariupol today. A real one. Miskvodokanal [utilities – ed.] workers have not gone to work due to non-payment of wages. Simply did not go to work. Such a surprise for the occupiers who do not know what to do. Shoot them? Arrest them? They are completely at a loss."

Details: Andriushchenko said that workers at the water utility announced on 11 August that the strike would continue.

 

Quote: "But the funniest thing is that Kostiantyn Ivashchenko (a collaborator with the Russian authorities in Mariupol) is not approaching them. Just does not approach them at all. And none of the overseers, either. Because the wages money has gone into the pockets of Ivashchenko, Ivanov [former deputy of Mariupol City Council instrumental in appointment of the mayor of Mariupol] and Sablin [Russian MP and overseer of the occupation of Mariupol]. And they were planning to give people rations again. But something went wrong."
