Cancer waiting times were the worst on record in 2023

We would like to hear from those of you who have experience with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer on the NHS.

Since King Charles’s cancer diagnosis was announced, many Telegraph readers had questions and concerns of their own about cancer.

Last week, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitted he failed to meet one of his five key pledges to cut NHS waiting lists. This comes as the number of people waiting more than 18 months for NHS treatment has increased by 86 per cent amid doctors’ strikes.

Cancer waiting times were the worst on record in 2023 with a total of 23,419 patients waiting over 104 days to begin treatment after a GP referral for suspected cancer, according to the latest NHS data.
