Student brings 2 guns to high school basketball game, school district says
A school resource officer confiscated two guns from a student at a high school basketball game on Friday, school leaders say.
Hall County School District officials said the student brought the two handguns to a basketball game at Cherokee Bluff High School.

According to school leaders, the SRO confiscated them from the student’s backpack after receiving a tip regarding possible weapons on campus.
“This is a serious violation of Georgia law and the HCSD student code of conduct, and the district will respond accordingly,” HCSD said in a statement. “The safety of students, their families, staff members, and all visitors on any of our campuses is our most important responsibility.”

The identity of the student has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
HCSD said all those involved in the incident are not allowed on campus while the investigation continues.
