Student brings unloaded ammunition magazine to school

Jan. 5—A Jane Macon Middle School student brought an unloaded ammunition magazine to school on Thursday, a message from school administrators to parents and guardians said.

"Around 8:30 a.m. today, our administration was alerted by a faculty member that students were engaged in inappropriate activities in our bathrooms," the message said. "While no activities were in progress during the investigation, we did discover that one student was in possession of an unloaded 14-round magazine. Please note that there was no gun or ammunition found."
