Student found with gun at Olympic High School in SW Charlotte Friday: CMS
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An investigation is underway after a student was found with a gun at Olympic High School in southwest Charlotte, authorities confirmed.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, a message went out to families on Friday, March 22, from Principal Jones stating a gun was found on a student.
Olympic High School administration contacted Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police following the discovery and launched an investigation.

The gun was not loaded and has been confiscated, CMS confirmed with Queen City News.
“Weapons are prohibited in our schools and are a violation of the Code of Student Conduct. Any student in violation will be disciplined according to the handbook and may also face legal charges,” Principal Jones stated in a message to families. “We ask that you continue to partner with us in creating a safe learning environment for all students by reinforcing the seriousness of this situation with your child(ren). We encourage all students to report threats and weapons to a trusted adult. Reports can also be made anonymously through the Say Something App. As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority.”
