Student stabbed at Rockford-area high school. Here's what we know

A 17-year-old suffered what authorities are calling "significant" injuries after being stabbed at Rochelle Township High School Monday.

The Ogle County Sheriff's Office said the stabbing happened during a fight between two 17-year-old boys Monday morning.

Both teenagers were taken to the hospital with one of them being flown to a different hospital because of their injuries. Their names were not released.

The school was placed on lockdown following the stabbing, according to the sheriff's office.

No charges have been filed as of Monday afternoon.
