Study: Cardinals fans least likely to avoid attending NFL games due to COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic altered the NFL offseason and is affecting training camps. There will be no preseason games and it is uncertain if fans will be able to attend regular-season games.

Even if fans are able to attend, the pandemic will surely affect fan interest in attending.

A recent study by Casino.org shows that fans are split about attending games.

In the survey of more than 1,000 people, more than 41% say they would not attend NFL games this season due to coronavirus fears.

However, Arizona Cardinals fans were the least affected. Only 15% of Cardinals fans said they wouldn’t attend because of fear of the pandemic.

These fans, at least to start the season, will likely not have the opportunity to attend. The team has already canceled season tickets and will only sell a limited number of single-game tickets if fans are able to attend at all.

Most Cardinals fans are in Arizona, so perhaps this will not come as surprising because of how things have gone in the state. However, they were also not worried about a face covering requirement.

In the study, more than a third of fans would not attend games knowing a face covering were required.

Cardinals fans had the second-lowest rate in the league. Only 11% of Cardinals fans would not attend knowing a face covering would be required.

Essentially, Cardinals fans want to see football games and are willing to do what it takes to be at the stadium.
