Study: LA can be entirely powered by renewable energy in 25 years

A study found that L.A. can be powered entirely with renewable energy in the next 25 years without any significant disruption to people's lifestyles or the economy.

- Research from the US Department of Energy shows LA can be powered entirely with renewable energy by 2046 with minimal impact on jobs or the economy. The study says the LA DWP can reach the goal if it deploys wind and solar power and electrical storage and other technologies.

The study also found that the city can dramatically reduce its greenhouse gas levels by 2030 if it begins to work on those goals now.
