2 new studies suggest blood type affects coronavirus infectability

Two new studies out this week show people with certain blood types may be more protected from COVID-19. The first of the studies looked at nearly 500,000 people who tested positive for COVID-19 and found people with Type O blood were under-represented. The second study out of Canada found among 95 critically ill patients, those with Type O or Type B blood tended to have a shorter stay in intensive care and were less likely to need a ventilator.
