A massive explosion at a chemical plant in Port Neches, Texas, has left three people injured and caused "extensive damage."

The explosion at the Texas Petroleum Chemical plant was reported at about 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, The New York Times reports. It left three personnel injured and blew out windows miles away, with residents within a half-mile being evacuated, NBC News reports.

"There's extensive damage throughout the city," the Port Neches Police Department said in a statement, CNN reports, although Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick noted "we are very, very thankful that, from preliminary reports, there are no fatalities." A stunning video shared on Twitter Wednesday showed the explosion.

"It shook our house twice," Shawn Dunlap, a resident of Nederland, Texas, told NBC News. "It was just like a bomb going off."
