STURGIS - More than 200 Sturgis High School seniors received their diploma May 25, under a cloudless early evening sky. The class of 2023 was recognized by administration and staff for their accomplishments over the years and their steadfastness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The graduates heard remarks and words of wisdom from principal Nicholas Herblet and superintendent Art Ebert, who encouraged the students to achieve great things and to not be deterred by challenges. Quoting in part President John F. Kennedy's 1962 Rice University speech on the country's space effort, Ebert told the 2023 seniors to choose to reach their goals, "not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
