VfB Stuttgart goalkeeper Alexander Nübel remains on the sidelines due to a hip problem and Fabian Bredlow is expected to take his place again on Saturday at Bundesliga bottom club Darmstadt.

Coach Sebastian Hoeneß did not want to make a prediction on Thursday how long Nübel will be missing although he said he may be back for the following game against Cologne.

Bredlow deputised for Nübel in last weekend's 3-1 victory over Mainz.

Stuttgart are third in the table in a strong season but Hoeneß warned that his players will face an "unpleasant game" against Darmstadt even though they have not won in 14 matches.

"They will do everything to make life difficult for us. They are not giving up," Hoeneß warned.
