VfB Stuttgart goalkeeper Alexander Nübel remains sidelined with hip problems as it remains unclear whether he can return between the posts in Saturday's Bundesliga match against Cologne.

Nübel, who is at the club on loan from Bayern Munich, missed the last two games against Mainz and Darmstadt. He was also not present for Tuesday training.

Fabian Bredlow has deputised in the two games for Stuttgart who are playing a strong season to rank third in the league.
