Subject Of ‘A Murder In Mansfield’ Documentary Says ‘The Purpose Of This Film Is To Show Vulnerability’
Collier (Boyle) Landry says the night his mother died he was woken up by screaming and two loud “thuds” in the middle of the night. When he went looking for his mother in the morning, he says his father, Dr. John Boyle, told him she’d gone on vacation. Three weeks later, Noreen Boyle’s body was discovered buried under the basement of a home in another state. The home had recently been purchased by John.
Collier, who was 11 at the time of his mother’s death in late December 1989, testified at his father’s murder trial. More than a quarter-century later, he became the subject of the documentary “A Murder in Mansfield” from Investigation Discovery.
In the film, Collier confronts his father about his mother’s death, and also views crime scene photos for the very first time.
“The purpose of this film is to show vulnerability, and to show that when you go through trauma, you can get through it,” Collier tells Dr. Phil in the video above. What does he say happened to him in the hours after police found his mother’s remains?
