Australian Suburb Resembles Scene From Hitchcock Movie as Cockatoos Take Over

A suburb of Nowra, New South Wales, looked like something straight out of a horror movie after a huge flock of cockatoos invaded it on April 27.

The footage – which would not look out of place in an Alfred Hitchcock film – was captured by Sherif Saraya, and shows thousands of corellas (a type of white cockatoo native to the area) taking over his neighborhood.

According to local media, the birds can be “incredibly destructive” but are a protected species, meaning not much can be done to stop them. Credit: Sherif Saraya via Storyful
