Subway fare evasion suspect punches NYPD officer in Manhattan: NYPD

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A woman was arrested after allegedly punching an NYPD officer in the face at a Manhattan subway station on Thursday, according to authorities.

The assault happened at 7:12 p.m. at the 59th Street-Lexington Avenue station, according to the NYPD.

Debbie Johnson, 24, jumped a turnstile before attacking the officer, police said. Johnson faces multiple charges, including assault and obtaining transit without paying.

The officer was treated at a hospital and released.
