Succession season 4, episode 3 spoilers follow.

Succession fans have shared their thoughts on season four's most recent episode, which was a total emotional rollercoaster.

As its title, 'Connor's Wedding' suggests, the episode saw eldest son Connor (Alan Ruck) prepare to wed his fiancée Willa. But — major spoiler alert — another huge moment overshadowed the event. The death of conservative media mogul Logan Roy (Brian Cox) left both the Roy family and Succession fans completely shaken.

Logan had been planning to sell the majority of his company to a Swedish billionaire, travelling to finalise the deal. However, things took an unexpected turn as the Roy family patriarch suffered heart failure onboard a flight, and his children learned of the news via phone call.

Viewers were quick to share their thoughts and reactions on social media, with many left feeling emotional by the twist.

"Nobody talk to me for 5-7 business days," one viewer wrote.

Meanwhile, another Succession fan noted that it's never a good idea to "trust" an episode of an HBO series that contains the word 'wedding'. This is a reference to Game of Thrones's season 3 episode that featured the 'Red Wedding' massacre. Although the episode is actually titled 'The Rains of Castamere', it's sometimes colloquially referred to as 'The Red Wedding'.

Other fans were quick to recall the season four poster, believing the aeroplane reflection featured in it was a hint at Logan's death.

"I can't believe the people being over-analytical about the plane on the poster were right," one user tweeted.

One user was quick to point out Succession's ability to make you feel emotional for Logan, despite his ruthless actions.

"Shedding tears for the worst people in the world. An absolute gut-punch of devastation," they wrote. "The way #SuccessionHBO handled tonight’s turn of events was a masterclass in so many categories."

Elsewhere on Twitter, another user noted that Logan dying on a plane without his family beside him reflected who he was as a person and his constant use of his children as pawns.

It wasn't only fans on Twitter who'd been impacted by the fictional death either, with the LA Times even creating an obituary for the media boss.

Succession season 4 is currently airing on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
