Just two episodes of Succession's sophomore season has aired, and viewers are already singing its praises.
Every character (save the beloved Cousin Greg, who sadly had little screen time) was back in full force. Tom and Shiv are easing their way into an uneasy marriage; Kendall's struggling to keep his head on straight after last season's Chappaquiddick-like incident; Roman is dealing with the aftermath of his rocket non-launch; Logan is reasserting his firm grip on his empire; Gerri is, as always, leading from behind; and Connor is... being Connor.
And now, we know their stories aren't ending anytime soon. Here's what we know about Succession's third season.
HBO just announced the show was renewed.
"We are elated that Succession and its exploration of wealth, power and family has resonated so powerfully with audiences," said HBO EVP Francesca Orsi, per the Hollywood Reporter. "We cannot wait to see how the complex characters that Jesse Armstrong has created continue to navigate this captivating, ruthless world of the uber-rich. In today's world where the intersection of politics and media is increasingly prevalent, Succession presents an especially piercing look behind the curtain of this elite, influential, and cutthroat community."
The release date isn't set in stone.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that the season is expected to air "sometime in 2020," but details are scarce. If Succession keeps to its previous schedule, though—both seasons one and two debuted in the summer—fans are looking at about a one-year wait.
