The Suicide Squad and Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving following an incident in March.

The comedian and actor was reportedly involved in a car crash in Los Angeles near Rodeo Drive and Elevado Avenue in Beverly Hills, Deadline reports. He allegedly hit a fire hydrant and crashed into the side of a house at about 11pm. His girlfriend and Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star Chase Sui Wonders was said to be in the car at the time.

Deadline quotes LA County District Attorney's office assistant chief of media relations, Greg Risling, as stating: "We believe that Mr Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home.

"Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision. We know that reckless driving can have devastating consequences."

The charge is being treated as a misdemeanour.

Digital Spy has reached out to representatives of the star for comment, and will update once we get a response.

Davidson has starred in three major action franchise films in 2023, including his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3, although you might not have recognised him.

He also voiced Mirage, one of the film's main characters, in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The latest instalment of the franchise ended with a big hint at a major crossover with another tentpole 1980's Hasbro franchise.

Last but not least, Davidson made a cameo appearance in Fast X, the first part of the two (or three)-part finale of the high-octane series. The film didn't receive the best reviews but has done quite well at the box office, although its success is a bit more complicated relative to its budget and previous entries' performance.
