The Suits spin-off show is officially moving forward with a pilot order at NBC.

According to TVLine, Suits: L.A. will introduce a brand new character, Ted Black, as a former federal prosecutor who moves his high-powered practice from New York to Los Angeles.

Suits creator Aaron Korsh will return to write the pilot of Suits: L.A., alongside original producers Doug Liman, Dave Bartis and Gene Klein as well as Victoria Mahoney.

Filming is currently scheduled to take place in Vancouver beginning in March but there are no casting details yet. It's also not yet known which original Suits cast members will be appear, if any.

Here's the official Suits: L.A. synopsis from NBC: "His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.

"Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved."

The huge resurgence of Suits on streaming services like Netflix initially spurred the development of a spin-off starting late last year.

The original show featured ace lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) working with his friend Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who has a photographic memory, to gain the edge over rival firms.
